Jigmap

Note: The intended platform for Jigmap is Windows Desktop. If you run into performance issues or any other glitches while playing the browser-based version of Jigmap, please download the standalone Windows version of the game if possible.

WELCOME TO THE JIGMAP GAME PAGE

Jigmap is a relaxing puzzle game where you piece the world back together one country at a time. Play through an assortment of puzzles based on the maps of real-life countries, where the puzzle pieces are the regions that make up the country.

Spend as much time as you want putting together puzzles or challenge yourself to complete them as quick as possible with the fewest mistakes. Sit back, relax, and learn the lay of the land of the countries that make up our world.

Controls

• Left click: pick up a piece, place it on a pin
• Right click: put the held piece back
• Mouse wheel or + / -: zoom
• Drag with a mouse button: pan when zoomed in
• Esc: put the piece back or pause

Developer Notes

Jigmap is one of the projects I have developed as part of a challenge I set myself to try and create 12 game projects in 12 months!

The last month or two I had taken an interest to learning about the regions that make up countries and cities. This lead me to want to create a game revolving around putting together puzzles which represented countries, and the pieces represented their different regions.

With how intense and complex the development of my last project Tower of Avarice was, I wanted to scale back and focus on creating a simpler game that focused more on polish. juice and presentation. 

Through a combination of shaders, PrimeTween and some new Unity 6.6 UI Toolkit features, I was able to achieve the final result that became Jigmap. I hope you enjoy and if you have any suggestions for additional maps to add to the game, please let me know!
